:: Modern Quilt Blocks ::

I have been working on blocks from Tula's book 100 Modern Quilt Blocks. They are quick to make and I love how the book is written with easy to follow directions and drawings.

 

Here are some of them, I have done a few more that I do not have photos of yet. I am very pleased with how they are turning out, except for that one block with the mistake in it. Can you spot it? I'll be ripping that one and correcting it eventually. I didn't even see the mistake until they had been up on the wall for quite a while.

These block are so fun and quick to put together.

If you like applique, but feel it is too time consuming or hand stitching not your thing, then this is the way to go. Laundry Basket Quilts has a book, Seasonal Silhouettes, and individual kits for each block. The shapes are laser cut and have the fusible backing applied. Just peel, stick, fuse and in a jiffy you can be quilting your completed block as an individual wall hanging or put them all together for a large quilt.
